The January 2025 educational meeting was held at a new venue - the University Place, Pierce County Library. We will be meeting there through June.
In the absence of an elected VP of programs, our President, Tim Ward, arranged (requested and received permission) to stream Legacy Family Tree Webinars for the next several monthly meetings. In response to members' answers on a recent survey, Tim chose a basic genealogy video to begin the year.
The January offering was a Lisa Lisson video, Unlocking Birth Records: Exploring Birth Dates and Alternate Sources.
It was a basic description of the important steps all genealogists, including beginners, should take with each ancestor, including those still alive. The various places names and birth dates can be found were listed, as well as tips for unusual places to look for these documents.
