This week's topic was Getting Started.
Our first homework assignment is to caption a photo from your research with more than names. Roughly 50 to 100 words.
For inspiration we suggested looking at the Tacoma Public Library's Image Archive and reading some of the captions. https://www.tacomalibrary.org/resources/local-history-genealogy/
Next meeting is October 9. Come prepared to share your photo and new caption.
I clicked on the Writing SIG and found a link to the video we watched. But there is no link to the slide presentation. Can you please post those, too?
I tried to Reply to this Forum post, but I can't using Firefox web browser.
I tried Edge web browser and it will not allow me to reply, either.
I tried Google Chrome and it does permit me to reply.
The TPCGS.org website does not seem to be fully compatible with all browsers.
I use a Windows 10 PC and favor Firefox, but I can use Edge and Chrome. All my software and system OS are fully up to date.
I've had this issue with a few other websites in the past year or two. We probably have to live with this. I'll try to use Chrome in the future.
Cheers,
Gary
Hello WFH SIG attendees, I think I've figured out how to add the slides to the forum. Attached should be our meeting slides from the Sept kickoff meeting.
I hope you've all found a photo to write your 50-100 word caption to share at the October 9 meeting. If not, you still have plenty of time!
