Legacy Family Tree Software Special Interest Group (Special Interest Groups)

This month we will start reviewing the free Legacy Family Tree software video hosted by Geoff Rasmussen "Sources and Citations Made Simple, Standard, and Powerful" it is a longer video so we should be finishing it next month. If you are thinking about trying Legacy or are currently using it, this video can teach or remind you how to properly use the software and be successful with your research. If you have any suggestions for future topics, please send them in.
This is our monthly meeting to share tips & tricks, problems & solutions. Sometimes we will watch videos or share our screens to aid in learning more about using Legacy Family Tree software.
Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the learning. If you are just thinking about trying Legacy for the first time, you've been using it for a year or two or you are an old pro with many years of experience using Legacy this is the group for you.

Tim Ward will be teaching this class. This will be a shallow and wide introduction into genealogy. The goal is to give attendees with little or no knowledge of genealogy an overview and information to help them get started researching and recording their family history along with sources to learn more about doing genealogy. There will be approximately 90 minutes lecture and 30 minutes for questions and answers with a multi-page handout.

Family history interviews are invaluable sources for our genealogy research that can also be converted into meaningful keepsake gifts for family. Explore tips and free or inexpensive tools to use with your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to capture family interviews in-person or from afar via Zoom. Learn best practices for planning and directing your interviews.
As we move into the holiday season we can use the methods and tools Colleen talks about to capture our own family stories.
